The Sitgestiu 2019 enters the final straight line. Next Sunday, the summer cultural campaign of Sitges Museums ends, which has filled the July and August calendar with opera, jazz and classical concerts, as well as heritage tours and children's workshops.
Yesterday. Cau Ferrat saw the last Jazz al Cau concert this summer. During eight sessions, the Retrio group has performed typical pieces of popular music from Sitges with a jazz rhythm. Also tomorrow, Thursday (9pm), the last concert of the Clàssica at Racó cycle will be held, organized jointly by Sitges Museums, the Department of Culture and the Mirabent Magrans Contest. It will be with the Korean soprano Yeani Lee, who was second in the singing modality of the last edition of the contest. Lee will perform works by Mozart, Haydn, Ronald and Gounod.
The opera also arrives at the end, next Sunday (7pm), with the last concert by Cavalleria Rusticana, by Pietro Mascagni. The tragic Sicilian love story will be triumphantly staged at the Golden Hall of the Maricel Palace, where this summer shared billboard with 'Madama Butterfly' by Puccini.
At the same time, between Thursday and Saturday, Sitgestiu also hosts the last three guided tours to the Maricel Palace. These are guided tours of the emblematic Noucentista building in three languages: in English (at 11:00 a.m.), in Catalan (12h) and Spanish (13h). Visits to the Palace will be back in September in its usual Sunday format.
