Sitgestiu 2023 achieved 100% attendance in its proposals and which made possible to draw up a program in which guided tours, concerts, family workshops and new experiences of dissemination and exploration of heritage live side by side. The set of events scheduled during the months of July and August received 1,511 participants, representing a 14.1% increase compared to last year.
The analysis of the Sitgestiu data, but, above all, of the development of the various events, allow Museus de Sitges to make a satisfactory assessment of the season in which this summer cultural program has celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary. The diversity of the proposals, their positive reception by visitors and the opportunity it has generated to approach the heritage of Sitges from various facets and formulas underpin the positive assessment carried out by Museus de Sitges.
The 1,511 participants represent an increase compared to the 1,324 registered in 2022. The public was made up of a plurality of profiles: tourists from various origins and nationalities, holidaymakers and people from the territory, both local and regional.
The new proposals incorporated this year in Sitgestiu have been well received by visitors. It is the case of the route Three museums and one history, which has made it possible to visit the Cau Ferrat and Maricel museums and the Palau de Maricel in the same itinerary; or sensory workshops The essences of Modernism and Breathe pictures, in addition to the magic activity for children. The Moonlight Dinner, which closed the program, was also a major success: it sold out and was a special commemoration of the Sitgestiu's twenty-fifth anniversary.
In this edition, two proposals that had been part of the Sitgestiu program years ago have been brought back, with remarkable success: the castanets concert at the Palau de Maricel - which sold out - and the Jazz at the Cau, which also filled the room. Other activities that stood out in the poster were the representation of Tosca and two events that made it possible to link various expressions of local heritage, in harmony with other institutions of the town: the pairing of art and wines (with the Malvasia Interpretation Center) and Sitges closer to the former fishing town (with the Brotherhood of Fishermen).
